It appears that the anime streaming platform Crunchyroll seeks to reach more anime fans, as it announced a partnership with the Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV, with the aim of providing more animation through the development and production of new series.
Through a newsletter, Crunchyroll indicated that it will work for hand in hand with the television station so that new titles are broadcast in Japan through a block called + Ultra, while the animes can also be seen on the platform in more than 200 countries and territories.
Likewise, it will work with the creative company Slow Curve to co-develop and co-produce several series, starting in April 2022. Some productions will include Estab-Life, which will be produced by the director of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Goro Taniguchi, and a new project from the author of the manga Tsutomu Nihei.
Currently, both companies are working together on the Muv-Luv Alternative series, an animated adaptation of the popular game of the same name, which explores the bonds of those who fight relentlessly in a world on the edge. The anime will premiere on Fuji TV in October, and Crunchyroll will stream the series exclusively via worldwide streaming.
Slow Curve, one of the companies the platform will work with, has been involved in content planning and even promoting various popular anime.
This shows that Crunchyroll does not want to be left behind, as it continues to seek to give the best experiences to its users and especially to those who are fans of Japanese animation.
