The Knights of the Zodiac marked several generations since the anime was released in Latin America. Today many of those children who saw Saint Seiya and his friends are complete adults who pay taxes, but they have not renounced the magic that Masami Kuramada’s story awakens.
At this week’s cosplay, we bring you the work of the artist known as Dr. Cosplay who put a twist on Saori Kido and updated her so she doesn’t look “so boring.”
We know that it is not what everyone would expect for a cosplay of Saori Kido, the goddess Athena, but the artist herself has explained her aesthetic decisions.
“ I always had a problem with Saori’s gown. For her cosplay, I made a prayer to the Madonna from 1988. ” Said Dr.Cosplay who works in New York.
It must be said that, in essence, the goddess Athena is there. The hair has been cut for a bolder hairstyle, but it is still purple and there is more bare skin, but the costume theme continues in white and gold. Cosplays are not always about imitating costumes, but about reimagining them.
In addition to the gold accents, Dr. Cosplay had the luxury of adding a personality “more typical” of a goddess who commands a squad of warriors. All the body language of this Saori cosplay tells us that we should not mess with her or her temple.
